Episode 56.18889248924 - The Animeshon Episode Featuring The SSAA Podcast

Our good friend Josh asked us to join in on one of the episodes of his podcast recently talking about old versus new anime. Peterson and I took the challenge and used our indoor voices for this hour long discussion. Since we are the most important people in that episode, here is just our section of his episode with some music attached to it. For the full episode you can go here and the previous episode which deals with the same subject. Enjoy.

(0:00 - 2:15) Intro

Rum night was fun by the way.

(2:16 - 54:42) Discussion (Old vs. New)

I don't have anything extra to say for these notes. We may bring this subject again in a future episode.

Episode 56 - The Gateway Episode Featuring Josh With A Lead Pipe In The Lounge

Oh right, the podcast. Took a while but we finally got an episode ready for you. I had one to many technical difficulties which is the reason for the delay. I hope you have been at least enjoying the active Twitter. Oh right, I can't go on there as much due to work. Turns out that promotions mean that you have to do more work. Plus, school is getting closer and closer ending for me. I think one less headache will be enough for me to concentrate on important things. That does not include this podcast of course. So, for your listening pleasure (or not since there was way too much noise to remove), here is our discussion on what anime has done to lead us into the different experiences we have had. For this one, we brought over a good friend of ours, Josh Dunham, to join in. Dedizen is here too. That explain the technical problems...

(0:00 - 14:20) Intro

I wonder if that guy on the motorcycle makes Skittles deliveries all over Foxy's neighborhood. That guy has been in all of our recordings so far. We might as well be sponsored by Mars. All this talk about Skittles got me thinking about this AMV.

More on this subject later.

(14:21 - 48:05) Discussion (Remember That?)

I think I have said that Gundam story way too many times. One of my first anime purchases and that set is now going for $120 online. Bandai is going to be re-releasing the Anime Legends set though.

(48:06 - 49:26) Earcatch

Animeshon Podcast You need to send me that 3JP promo.

(49:27 - 1:33:51) Discussion (Now What?)

Yes Miyavi is a guy and yes he is serious business.

(1:33:52 - 1:35:02) Earcatch

Jammer's AniMovie Podcast Oh hi, Jammer. You are late on releasing that episode. Look, don't worry about it and congrats on graduating.

Oh hi, Timestamp.
(1:35:03 - 2:05:41) Discussion (What's Left?)

Episode 55 - The Detective Conan Episode Featuring Cheerleaders

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to listen to this episode of the Ass Backwards Anime Podcast. Though two people could have just been replaced with sheep, we go through a large one-sided discussion about a personal favorite of mine, Detective Conan.

(0:00 - 4:33) Intro

What PwnGoatJunkie doesn't understand is that you can't just force some things to happen.

(4:34 - 1:36:33) Discussion (The Whole Case)

I think I covered enough in the episode to need a lot of notes. The one thing I really want to mention is the live action specials of Conan. Two were made some time ago. The first was a prequel to the series which leads to the day where Shinichi was turned into a kid. The other, which the opening sequence is below, has to do with Conan and Ai turning back to their older forms and our two favorite members of the Black Organization show up.

Here is the trailer for the 14th movie. Looks like this one will end up covering the issue of how Kaito Kid and Shinichi look so much alike.

(1:36:34 - 1:38:16) Closing
