Episode 44 - Peterson Can Talk By Himself

I guess you can consider this a late present. I wanted to see if I could squeeze this in before the New Year. This is our short recommendation episode. The fact that the episode lasts only a little over an hour is the reason why we call it short. We have Peterson talking about some manga he has been reading. Then, we have me (Doctor) talk about some anime. Lastly, we have Foxy talking about live-action dramas. Now, go find these things to distract you while you are still on winter break.

(00:00 - 05:45) Intro

I think we need to start mixing it up next time.

(05:46 - 12:30) Review (Ubel Blatt)

I am writing these notes at work and I know I can't find stuff to put on here due to the content of this manga.

Here are the bladed tentacles that Peterson was talking about.

(12:31 - 20:20) Review (Kurozuka)

I gave you all the clues you need, people. Peterson said a keyword in his review. Can you find it?

(20:21 - 24:42) Review (Getsumento Heiki Mina)

This was one of really interesting shows that just hit the right buttons. Even if you don't watch this, check out Densha Otoko.

HENSHIN?

(26:34 - 46:08) Review (Hayate the Combat Butler)

I am sure I could have done an entire episode on Hayate. Seriously, there are so many characters in this manga. I only touched on a few characters from the school, but there is still a load of characters I missed. If I am going to do it, I will need help. If there is someone who is willing to take the challenge, email us.

Seriously, the author planned this somehow. Kugamiya Rei was destined to be Nagi. Also, the best part of the anime is the narrator is played by Norio Wakamoto.

Santa is a dick.

(46:09 - 51:33) Review (Ninkyo Helper)

(51:34 - 59:17) Review (Saru Lock)

Trailer for the movie.

You guessed it; we’re talking about fighting games. From the super, hyper popular Street Fighter to the rare Wargods, we will talk about all the fighting games we’ve played, and games we want to forget.

Episode 42 - Funkatron Prefers More Mature Wolf Girls

Time to lose some dignity points. This is what happens when people misunderstand what is being written on the Internet. People end up having to talk about a bunch of little girls shooting each other with lasers. With the help of Funkatron from the Unofficial One Piece Podcast, we talk about Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. By we, I mean just me, Doctor. By talk, I mean fanboy over. By fanboy over, I mean I'll fix your sink. By fix your sink, I mean...never mind.

(0:00 - 3:27) Intro

We hit the ground running at this point. Had Funk not said something stupid, I could have opened with a great discussion about One Piece stupidity. Too bad.

(3:28 - 24:10) Discussion (Original)

Here is the diagram I was referring to.

That's mainly it.

Little girls should not have that much fire power.

(24:11 - 36:22) Discussion (A's)

Be my friend...or I'll kill you.

(36:23 - 36:56) Earcatch

The Unofficial One Piece Podcast

(36:57 - 54:00) Discussion (StrikerS)

I hope my enthusiasm for this series showed in this section.

She may have grown up, but she can still kill you.

(54:01 - 1:04:20) Discussion (The Movie)

(1:04:21 - 1:14:53) Mailbag

Thanks to everyone, or the one, that wrote in. I will be sure to read more feedback the next chance we get.

(1:14:54 - 1:17:38) Closing

Anyone want to guess how many times the word "basically" was said?

One last thing. I did a guest spot on Josh Dunham's podcast, Animeshon. I don't think I helped much. Also, congrats Josh on getting that writer position for Anime 3000. From all of us at SSAA, we want to say: How the hell did that happen? Anyway, good luck.

Episode 41 - Richy Made Me Release This Today

Going to have to release this one slightly earlier than I planned it to be. As suggested in the title of this episode, I decided to release this episode now as to avoid getting an error for 50. This was planned as just a review for Ninja Assassin, but we ended up combining it with something else that we planned for later on in the month to record. Now, you are forced to listen to the bastard child of those two ideas. Have fun.

(0:00 - 3:43) Intro

Serena Williams is the answer, if you were curious.

(3:44 - 32:16) Discussion (Animes adapted to movies)

Sigh. This trailer was so bad, I didn't want to put it on the site. (NSFW)

(32:17 - 32:48) Earcatch

The Unofficial One Piece Podcast Witty comment here

(33:49 - 52:59) Discussion (More animes adapted to movies)

This was before Rain got his ninja abilities.

(53:00 - 1:09:38) Discussion (Western projects created in concert with Japanese studios)

I wish we could have talked more about Big O instead of just spoiling the whole thing. This may have ruined future plans.

(1:09:39 - 1:25:50) Review (Ninja Assassin)

If you have not heard about Ninja Assassin before, here is the trailer. Now go watch it.

(1:25:51 - 1:28:54) Closing

You have no idea how long I wanted to find a way to reference Surf Ninjas. Oh god, the trailer is terrible.

Episode 40 - The Train Gets Detoured

Sorry for the delay and sorry for the quality of the show. These set of episodes proved to be the toughest to release. Though we are not going to be talking about errors just yet, and trust me, there were plenty, it is for the best to save them. So, in this episode we talk about the Fall and Winter anime of this year. As well as me, Doctor, making an idiot out of myself. Guess which one was easier to do.

Click here to download episode (Right-click and Save As)

(0:00 - 5:18) Intro

From this point forward, 50 is the new meme.

(5:19 - 49:38) Review ('09 Fall Anime)

Here is the link to the chart we use.

Yeah, I know I watch way too much stuff. I will admit, I am still watching shows that are from the previous seasons. Here is a small glimpse into my madness. If you are on MAL, go ahead and friend me if you want.

If you guys have any complaints or comments about the shows we talked about, or didn't, just leave one here. If its a bit more than an essay, I'm looking at you Ricey, email us instead.

(49:39 - 50:09) Earcatch

The Unofficial One Piece Podcast I am just glad we don't fact check the crap I say on there.

(50:10 - 1:18:17) Discussion ('09 Winter Anime Preview)

Here is the link to the chart we use.

I know we are shooting ourselves in the foot by talking about this before a final release of shows, but why should we care if there are 3 more shows that we are not going to watch.

(1:18:18 - 1:52:09) Discussion (Ramblings of a crazy person)

I don't think I have any more creditability. Please, argue with me. I know I am wrong.

(1:52:10 - 1:54:44) Closing

I hope me crying my eyes out doesn't cause you to stop listening.
